The basic psychological characteristics of a child when he/she comes to life are called temperament. Knowing exactly the temperament characteristics that can be likened to a seed and carrying out appropriate training activities are very valuable for development. Education by recognizing the potential abilities and potential risks of the child's temperament accelerates and facilitates the child's self-realization process. Therefore, knowing which seed characteristics of children, each of whom we can think of as a separate seed, will make a positive contribution to the quality of learning. Knowing the temperaments will allow us to grow the best apple, best cherry and best orange trees instead of trying to turn apples into cherries. The subject at the center of the education process is guidance services. Guidance given in accordance with temperament will have a permanent and sustainable effect on learning.
As ERA Colleges, we apply temperament tests to all our students and create temperament reports with the Temperament-Centered Education Model. Our Guidance Unit organizes workshops throughout the year by applying activities specific to our students' temperament and improving their abilities. In addition, we support the education we provide by holding family information seminars to ensure that the temperament-centered education model we apply at school is also applied to family communication. Our aim with the Temperament-Centered Education Model is; Knowing the temperament type of our students is to meet the wishes, needs and expectations underlying their behavior and attitudes. Thus, it is possible to adopt a true student-centered education approach that can meet students' individual needs and enable them to reveal their potential.
Scientific observations and research have drawn attention to the differences in children that can be observed from birth. Although many environmental conditions are the same, the reason for children's different development and perception is the difference in their temperament structure. Temperament: It is the whole of the individual's unique perception and realization tendencies that begin with his existence and continue unchanged throughout his life. Personality: The whole of the individual attitude that emerges as a result of the interaction of the unchanging temperament structure and the changing external conditions is called personality. Character: Personality traits that are well-established, distinct, persistent, and resolutely repeat constitute the character.
The Enneagram methodology defines nine different temperament types and clearly reveals the existence and characteristics of these temperaments. Knowing the temperament type of children within the framework of these definitions; It allows us to know the wishes, needs and expectations underlying their behavior and attitudes. Briefly, general characteristics of temperaments;
Children with TYPE 1 temperament; He is truth-oriented, controlled, normative and serious.
Children with TYPE 2 temperament; He is helpful, friendly, warm-hearted and very emotional.
Children with TYPE 3 temperament; It has a success-oriented, competitive and ambitious nature.
Children with TYPE 4 temperament; He is sensitive, easily hurt, original and fond of his individuality.
Children with TYPE 5 temperament; He is curious about knowledge, observant, introverted and rational.
Children with TYPE 6 temperament; It has a structure that is cautious, avoids harm and seeks a focus of trust.
Children with TYPE 7 temperament; He loves innovation, is active, enjoys pleasure and is curious.
Children with TYPE 8 temperament; He is brave, strong, self-confident and dominant.
Children with TYPE 9 temperament; He is composed, harmonious, gentle and calm.
