DEFINITION AND PURPOSE OF OUR GUIDANCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING PROGRAM

The basis of the work of ERA College Psychological Counseling and Guidance Unit; To enable students to know and understand themselves, to support them in developing their talents and skills, to provide them with positive behavior and social skills, to develop an internal learning motivation necessary for academic success, and to help them improve themselves in problem solving and decision making.
The guidance and psychological counseling unit, which is a major part of mental, physical, psychological, social and academic development in our college's 5G Development model, has an important place in the education of our students. The main purpose of all the work we do is to focus on our students and to integrate them into society as fully equipped, sensitive to their environment, self-aware in every sense, aware of their needs, self-actualizing, conscious, healthy and happy individuals.
The guidance program, which is planned and prepared according to the developmental periods of the students, is followed by reporting the physical, social and psychological development of our students with the help of tests and inventories. Reports of all guidance activities are shared with our parents. At ERA College, our students are supported with personal-social, vocational and educational guidance studies as well as individual psychological counseling. On issues such as exam anxiety, peer conflicts, lack of self-confidence, communication within the family, school phobia, study methods, problems are identified with necessary and appropriate techniques and measurement tools, necessary guidance is made and appropriate solutions are created.
In ERA College guidance studies, it is aimed to raise awareness by informing students, parents and teachers about issues such as student, parent and teacher awareness training, the characteristics of the developmental period of children, the importance of individual differences, the approach and learning appropriate to their temperament, privacy, methods that increase success, effective communication, school adaptation process, conscious use of technology, exam strategies. Through our values education program implemented throughout the year and various social responsibility projects and activities, we aim to enable our children to include universal values in their lives by doing and living them, and to develop their social skills, self-confidence and communication skills.

OUR GUIDANCE AND PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELING TRAINING CONTENT

In our college, students' individual differences and uniqueness are at the center of the education process and guidance studies.
In order for each student to realize their potential, it is ensured that they know themselves, realize their needs, know their sources of motivation, and are guided correctly in line with their interests, abilities, desires and needs.
ERA College Psychological Counseling and Guidance unit supports the holistic development of students with development reports prepared in line with inventory applications such as personality, temperament, learning styles, interest, ability and study behavior evaluation designed for each student according to his/her age - grade level and needs, and preventive and developmental guidance studies in areas where students are needed.

Personal Social and Academic Development
In the ERA College development program, individual interviews, group activities and inventory studies are aimed at helping our children and young people get to know themselves, express themselves, gain communication skills and develop self-confidence, while educationally, students are motivated to study and acquire basic skills that increase school success through school adaptation studies. The student's academic progress is regularly monitored, necessary precautions are taken and guidance is provided regularly.

Personal Development and Career Counseling

At ERA College, each student's development in many areas is monitored from the first day they come to school, effective study habits suitable for the student are developed, and goals are set. Informative studies are carried out on introducing the exam system, effective and efficient study methods, test-taking techniques, exam strategies, and coping with exam anxiety. Motivational activities that reduce exam anxiety and post-exam preference counseling are implemented by our expert guidance counselors. Career guidance is determined by using appropriate techniques and measurement tools in line with students' interests, abilities, wishes and needs. Guidance studies that continue throughout the year support the individual development of students and enable them to prepare correctly for the exam and plan their careers correctly, with methods to increase academic success.

Social Skills and Values Education

With social skills training, our students develop the skills of understanding others, recognizing their emotions, apologizing, conflict resolution and communication skills that they need throughout life. In our values ​​education program, our students transfer the values ​​that make people human, such as love, respect, and helpfulness, into their lives through learning by doing and experiencing activities that develop self-confidence and communication skills. In order for our students to develop a positive perception and attitude towards values, our learning activities, interviews, projects and in-school guidance activities regarding the value of each month continue throughout the year.

Student - Parent Seminars and Workshops

At ERA College, effective communication, efficient study methods, positive peer relations, safe internet use, privacy, healthy living, anger management, etc. are determined for the needs of the students. Personal, educational and professional information is provided by organizing seminars on subjects.
In order for families to have a healthier communication with their children and to better understand their children's needs, healthy living, privacy, correct approach to temperament, developmental period characteristics, parent attitudes, school adaptation process, parent-child communication, conscious and safe use of technology, etc. Informative studies, seminars, workshops and events are organized on these issues throughout the year, and parent information letters are shared with our parents on needed issues.

Professional Introductions and Career Talks

By recognizing the personality traits of our students, vocational guidance studies are carried out so that they can make more accurate and reliable career choices that suit their personalities and in line with their interests and abilities. The activities we hold at our college, such as career promotion days, high school or university promotional tours, career talks, career and education fair trips, and vocational library shed light on the career goals of our students.

Social Responsibility Projects and Awareness Activities

As ERA College, in order to contribute to the education of our students as individuals who are sensitive to their environment, useful to society, empathetic, understanding and tolerant, we provide them with a sense of responsibility at every level and instill in them why these responsibilities must be fulfilled. 
ERA students take an active role in various activities and projects that support their social development and benefit society as citizens and people of the world who are sensitive to the problems of the age in every aspect.

CONSULTANCY AT ERA COLLEGE

At ERA College, every student has an advisor. This teacher is determined among the teachers whose classes the student takes. Advisor; It follows our students' progress, motivation, attendance and absenteeism in classes, helps them increase their success, gets to know their relationships with teachers, friends, family and their social lives, and supports our students when they need it.

  • It closely follows the academic, social, psychological, mental and physical development of its students.
  • Prepares and monitors individual study programs in line with the demands of its students.
  •  Examines the results of the exams taken by its students and provides feedback to its students.
  • Observes his students in the school environment.
  • It organizes social events to increase the motivation of its students.
  • Holds a parent meeting at least once every semester.
  • He calls parents periodically and provides information about the general condition of their children. If the student has taken the exam within this period, the exam results will be transferred to the parent.
  • If the student is absent, he/she calls his/her parents and informs them.
  • Enables the weekly homework schedule to reach parents and students.
  • He obtains information about the students he consults periodically from other branch teachers.
  • Communicates with students and parents when deemed necessary.
  • In the guidance course held regularly every week, students are taught about exam anxiety, coping with stress, using time effectively during the exam, studying efficiently, future career choices, etc. Provides information on topics.
