Continuing their work within the scope of the Eco School Program, secondary school students at Era College İzmir Mavişehir Campus Eco Team carried out a meaningful event to raise awareness in the school community about water saving. The study prepared within the scope of the program aimed to both improve students' environmental awareness and contribute to school staff using water more efficiently.
The event process started with the informative presentation prepared by the students for the floor staff. In the presentation, the distribution of water in the world, water consumption in daily life and the problems caused by unnecessary use were discussed in detail. Students supported their research with visuals and examples and emphasized why saving water is of vital importance.
Continuing the study, Eko Team students performed a short theater show explaining the consequences of water waste. With this show, the negative effects of unconscious use of water resources in the future were effectively conveyed.
Posters prepared by students within the scope of the event were displayed in the school and visual awareness areas were created for all students and employees. The posters included simple but effective daily habits for water conservation.
At the end of the program, Eco Team members once again reminded the participants of the importance of conscious behavior towards saving water by giving them "Era College Water Protectors" badges. The distribution of badges was a meaningful step in showing that students take responsibility in this regard and that they are role models as individuals with high environmental awareness.
As Era College Izmir Mavişehir Campus, we congratulate all our students who take an active role in environmental sustainability studies; We are proud to support this conscious perspective, which adopts the principle of protecting every drop of water.
